Overview
Palawan, known for its beautiful beaches and rich rainforests, is widely regarded as the Philippines' best overall vacation destination. Palawan also has the country's best beach resorts that thousands of tourists flock to every year. This Busuanga Island hideaway is Palawan in a private setting, having its best features – white sandy beach, clear seawater, lush foliage and tastefully designed accommodations – but without crowds of people. The property is located on a slope that leads to the sea. Trees cover the hillside and a spring-fed stream – the water source of the hideaway – cuts through it. The slope bottoms out at the sea and three villas sit where the forest meets the beach.
Each beach house has a veranda that is furnished with local handmade furniture and meticulously decorated with Asian ornaments and art pieces. The bedrooms open up to fantastic views of the forest at the back and the sea in front. The place has no electricity and no generator. Lights are powered by solar panels and the villas are completely quiet, save for the sound of waves lapping on the beach and birds singing in the forest.
With no electricity and refrigeration, food is bought daily from a nearby fishing village. The hosts make their own bread and pastries and pick fruits from their garden. All meals are prepared with a lot of care and pride and guests are guaranteed to have many memorable seafood dishes.
Right in front of the beach is a coral reef that is perfect for snorkeling. A small paddle boat is available for those who want explore the coastline and several islands are accessible by motorboat. The nearby fishing village and mangrove are also worth visiting. While active people can find interesting things to see and do, the common agenda at this hideaway is to simply relax on the veranda or beach and absorb the utter tranquility and beauty of nature.
